EDM Die Sinking

Eliminate the testing/verification process of your mould component models, milling programs, electrode models and electrode milling programs!

You may not have any “problems” with your die sinking operations, but if you’re spending time avoiding them, you’re wasting time!

Using VERICUT solid models of pre-machined moulded components and machined electrodes to make the complete mould will give you the same plunge/ram sinking operations as on the machine!

The EDM Die sinking module provides several different views of the burn process, including display of the rough machined stock, the electrodes, and the burn material (material removed by the electrodes). All elements can be shown, hidden or displayed translucent. The burn process also indicates the volume of material removed from each electrode and allows specification of an “overburn” offset on each electrode.

You can compare the resulting burned mould component to a design model of the final desired mould component using AUTO-DIFF.

  • Custom settings for spark gap & orbit allowance
  • Simultaneous sinking of several electrodes
  • Check for: electrode gouges in the design; over/under burn, volume of material removed by each electrode, contact area & electrode overlap
